Normally the externals stay for two weeks, being week 3 and 4.
I expect them to have operated week 2 and 3 only.

Tornado 059 has indeed been noted consistently since its arrival on 20aug, so its departed was shortlived and I have changed that in our overview.

Tornado 46+21 arrived on the 4th of september and has been used since.

Tornado 43+25 was spotted on its arrival on 19th of august but was not logged since.

Could you send me the photo link please (pm)

The helicopters has been added!

Well after passing an empty Brussel it was getting anxious for us if the TLP would fly. The weather looked promising, but as we enjoyed many disappointments in the past we were careful not to cheer to soon.
Luckily the TLP did fly and fired up their engines at 12.00h. The Awacs had allready left quite some time by then. The weather was very nice, quite warm and almost clear blue skies. Take off from the west.
The two French choppers flew low over the spottersplace but with backlit. Most of the jets stayed quite low so they good be photographed quite nice from the spottersplace. Especially one of the French Mirage 2000 pilots kept it low as the other rocketed into the sky.
The first aircraft arrived quite soon allready after the launch. Most came in one by one after making a pass as a pair. Only the M2000's and two Spangdahlem Vipers flew a four ship. Very nice!
The AMX's overshot the runway and made a second run.
At the same time both French choppers arrived and made a direct approach to the parallel runway. Yet again, backlight spoiled this. Luckily the overshot the runway and made a very tight turn and flew around the spotters to make a approach to the main runway so we were able to make excellent pictures of them with the sun in our back. Thanks gentlemen!

The AWACS arrived rather late after the return of the other participants. It made a low pass over the field and made a very tight turn into a right hand approach. Very fast and came in high.....it looked very interesting.

Unfortunately, there was no local traffic until the arrival of the AWACS after which we left.
I also heard a rumour that there will be no TLP mission on thursday. Only tomorrow! Don't know if it's true!

(edit....two German, dark c/s, Tornado's remained on the ramp, together with a F-16)
I will update the gaps later!

Cheers,

Arjan and Polleke!

Heard that rumor too. Some guy called the TLP yesterday after the cancellation of the mission just to check if they were to fly thursday and he was told no! Only on tuesday and wednesday.

I am not great in interpreting Notams, so my question is: does this NOTAM say that there's no flying between 12.30 and 14.00? And could this mean that the TLP mission takes place before or after that? If not, what sense does it make that the participants stay until friday. Is there a chance of them leaving thursday morning?

Perhaps not....I think that there's mission planned for today (10/9). I guess most participants will not be leaving on the same day that they still flew a mission.

I hope someone can clear this up, as I had planned to go tomorrow but I might change this to friday so I can catch the participants at least on departure.

I heard the same rumour today that tomorrow (11/9) there will be no mission.

Do mind that these times are UTC!
So no flying between 1430LT and 1600LT

Today the TLP mission had landed before 1430LT, so a TLP mission could still be possible, if it is planned at all!

Good Luck!
