AMS->SFO, EC 130 Flight over the GC [HOLIDAYPICS]

Post by sfeyenoord1 »

On my vacation i've been to the usa, wich ment, the first time flying for me! :D

To kick off with the flight from Spl to San Francisco, operated by KLM B744, PH-BFL 'City of Lima'. Where we were located at the last window:

5. At SFO (where a US Airways 757 landed a 100m next to us :) )

During the trip we went trough Las Vegas, where a few shots were made from the hotel to the airport. (No shots from at the airport due to lack of time) (apologize for the unsharpness, a window + no tripod on sunrise aint very nice  )

7. Some 737-200's

Then at the grand canyon a 45 min long helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon was scheduled :D The flight was operated by a EC130 (N130GC). And thanks to my uncle, we both had cockpit seats :).

These aren't some 'regular' 737 but these ones are used as shutlle flights for the employees of Area 51. It is something different then going by bicycle to work

Wonderful pictures! Thanks for sharing, you must have had a very nice holiday. I do like the Alcatraz shot and I see that the proverbial birds have flown...
As far as I'm concerned you can post more and not just aircraft! :D

Have I seen your tree log picture on Gathering of Tweakers or did I just see a different picture with exactly the same angle? :P

Nice pics, I'm making a similar trip next year after I graduate from high school. Amsterdam -> New York -> San Fran and with a camper to the big cities like Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Can't wait :D

Absolutely interesting report, but moved to this area because of the amount of non-aviation photos.

Thanks all! :D

And nope, not my shot on tweakers, just from the same angle  .
And you'll enjoy it definitly kiwi! Zion & Yosemite are really a nice place to visit, if you have the chance. And if you want to visit alcatraz, i would recommend a reservation, wich is 100% worth it. :D

@ Key, ok with it, but i see allot more of aviation related shots, then the few bonus shots?
