Irish Air Corps PC-9 Air Firing

Post by IrishAirPics »

Hi Guys,

I recently spent a day with the Flying Training School of the Irish Air Corps as they prepared their PC-9 trainers for air firing practise using their .50 inch gun pods. Unfortunately I couldn't make it when they were firing the rockets so I've got no piccies of that.

I'll give you a teaser shot for now (I'm holding off on the rest for an article in Flying In Ireland, an Irish aviation mag), this shot shows a pair of PC-9's returning to the ramp after undergoing EOR checks where all safety pins were put back in the pods & pylons.

I know theyre not fast jets and they don't have missiles & LGB's but it's something you don't see every day, even here in Ireland.

Regards,

Frank.
