Australia Caribous grounded, to be wfu 2009?

Post by michel N »

Hello all,

according to some sources within the RAAF the Caribou is grounded at the moment, due to a hard landing of one caribou in Papoua New Guinee. This landing caused structural damage to the aircraft, which will never fly again. The fate of all other Caribous is uncertain. At the moment they're all grounded. This was also the reason no Caribous attended this year's Amberley Air show. It is possible all Caribous will be withdrawn from use by the end of next year.

The RAAF is already looking for new jobs for the 38 Sqn personnel, currently based at Townsville.
