Hi all,

today me and my little girl of five visited Florennes AB in the hope to see some TLP participants fly. When we arrived around 13.00 hour the first TLP participants were already in take off. ... so we were happy to see some action. Weather was a mix of clouds and sunny spells.

In order of landing (all read from my digital images):

*) This F-18 had its tailhook down but did not catch the barrier. Instead it flew away and was not seen anymore. I left Florennes AB around 15:45 hour.

Also left during TLP launch but not seen landing before I left were 3x Tornado F3 and 2x spanish Mirage F1. Perhaps all these aircarft returned after I left around 15:45 hour? Or they went back home? Perhaps someone has the answers :?:

Edward.

These two fighters turned out to be Spanish Mirage F1's...coded 14-45 and 14-36. Interesting hour at Ramstein...

Only one AMX was outside on Saturday the 18th, but was not read off due to the heat haze. Does anyone know which one?

Cheers and thanks,

Wed 22 October

Post by Lifeliner 3 »

Any chance that there will be a mission flown this coming Wednesday, as the mission on Thursday 9 October was cancelled?

(I can only go on the 22nd, the weather forecast for that day is quite good, but unfortunately it's scheduled as an academic day/ WX slip day...).

Regards,
Leonard

Could someone explain what "WX slipday" means? (I have an idea but just want to make sure)

90% sure the full phrase is "Weather cancellation slipday"; in any case, it's a reserve day in case one or more missions got cancelled.

Yeap, also one outside on Sunday morning. Had a cover over nose/canopy. So code could not be seen. It had no numbercode on the tail. For what it's worth...

So if any one knows...

I7184 was heard departing EBFS late Friday,so if I7184 WAS MM7184(always uncertian with the Italians),then the other one.
