Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Great pics indeed. However, I've got some questions.

First of all about this Apache, you can see some red wires. What do they do?

About the "hill" (no, not on EHSB), where can I find it? I couldn't see it on the map in the "where to go" section.

Thank's a lot!

It's spot number 5 at the "where to go" page. You can't miss it.

test

Post by Sines »

The AH-64D with the red wire was performing a testflight, testing communications with some folks at the tower. About comms strenght at various spots all over the airfield as well as all 4 IP's. All spots were checked at ground level, about 100ft if I remember correctly and in different directions. This because at some point the tower had bad reception with Chinook and Cougars before that. First time for me to see it configured like this as well. Normal testflights only carry these wires around the cockpit area.

As for the slopes, if I heard tower well today they are going to make another one. No doubt this one will not be at such a suitable location for us :-)
