Dubai by night

Post by S&B extra »

After replacing my "snapshot" camara with a new model (Sony DSC-T700) I decided to get a tri-pod as well. While at "work" the same night I decided to put the new combination to work with these results:

lets take the bus:

Lovely with airside snaps from DXB. I used to work there with DNATA for three years. I snuck in a compact to take a few pics but theres so much police around airside.

Do you work in DXB? Looks like all your pics are from T2 stands - what a place. Remember up to 15 IL76 there some nights. How did you manage the photography?

Nice goin', mate! Like Egon, I'm curious about your dealing with security. Stealth mode? ;)

the pics are airside indeed on the E ramp and just lessay I took a chance with the security forces... (and was confident that I would be able to talk my way out of trouble)

I counted about seven IL-76s...

Be carefull mate. Things may have changed but when I was there a certain Mr. Chris Doggett had his equipment taken off him when he was discovered taking pics. He even had a permit (it was expired though - but in arabic) he tried to talk himself out of trouble but they wouldnt hear of it.
I think he eventually did get his kit back though.
When I worked there the airport police station was down towards by the firestation and they constantly drove past the new FBO areas.

I had the "pleasure" of being arrested twice in the UAE for doing planespotting land-side. Once in FJR and once in DXB. They were not too bad really but they do not like spotters for sure.

Just a heads up :D

In saying all the above I would love to see more

Take it easy mate,
