Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

I'm not a mil spotter, so the following might sound stupid but is the Shin Meiwa (?) still active ?

If so, did you get those on photo ?

Hi all

Thank you all for your positive reactions. Good to hear! Some friends and I are setting up an organised trip to Japan next year, so if you are interested you can join us the country with the unlimited possibilities !

A few answers to your questions/comments.

Ketko. I did Iruma by train last week. It is a bit complicated if you do not speak Japanese, but you do apparantly. Iruma is reachable by train of you take the Seibu line from Shinjuku station or from Takadanobaba (which is easier). After an about a 45 min drive, exit the train from Iriso station and walk or take a cab to the hospital. At http://www.scramble.nl/airports/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you can download the map and descriptions.

Mo. Finally 501 Hikotai with sun :-) And also some 305 and 204 Hikotai Eagles. Joepie! Hiyakuri revenge complete

Thijs. Yeah Yeah. You should have joined us on the race photography course with Frits van Eldik last week. Racecars with 1/30s, Talking about blur..

Crizz. Bahrain. Have a look at http://www.airfighters.com/photosearch.php?phgid=735" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; they are all there

Marcel. :-) Next time with Wi-F&ck ?

cHabu Yes the Shin Maywa is still active altough a new variant, the US-2 is being built. See picture below

Here are some pictures from the Hyakuri Air Review last sunday. I was fortunate to join the show on the base and we were positioned near the taxi track. This was not so good for taking pictures from the flypast, but they were too high anyway, but the taxitrack was quite good actually

When the show was over we went over to the spotters place outside the base. View is ok, but the new runway is a bit in between. And those orange fences everywhere do not improve the viewing here. Here some pictures including an overview of the spottersplace. In the evening the sun was getting lower and it was getting quite dark. The last pictures are some interesting ones with very low shutter speeds. The F-2 and the U-125 were taken with 1/125s, so they are not completely sharp, but it gives a nice effect

The car of my Japanese friend. Yes, I actually fitted in quite nicely.

Gateguard. If only I could flash myself back 20 years.

The Spotters place. Some people may recognize Wim Verkerk, Robin Polderman and Manolito Jaarsma. Coincendentally I bumped into them at Matsushima and saw them here again. I guess they will upload their pictures soon.

And it was getting later and later..
