Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Miami Last century

Post by EC »

I think it is time for a topic on that spotting Mekka: Miami.

The glory days were no doubt the last 3 decades of last century, with propliners flying cargo to and from the Caribbian and all kind of jetliners jetting in from South America.

I have put some scans together, not the most glamoures planes at this moment but I think a good start, feel free to join in the fun.

There can only be one opener:

This last one is actually on Bimini, the Bahamas. But the flight started in Miami Harbour.

Most of above pictures were taken in 1992 (except for the Connie, Saeta and Albatros)

enjoy and join in if you can.

All nice pics! You can almost smell the kerosene...
I was in Miami last october to make some nice pics but now, there are no spottersplaces(anymore). There was one place to make some but the police is also everywhere, due to 9/11. Now there are all prohibbited terrains. The only way to make some pics, is on the terminal. Behind t(a)inted glass. I think Fort Lauderdale is a better place. Maybe for the next time.

Hi all and Jacco especially, I was in miami last January and indeed the places you can photograph have been reduced, but it is certainly not impossible.
To my knowledge the place next to the customs office is still open.

For those who like to know what is happening nowdays here is a link to the topic from last January
