Scramble 355 will be out in a couple of days

Post by jurgen »

Tomorrow (Saturday) is the day many of us have been waiting for for a long time.
The first Scramble Aviation Day will be held in the Merwestein Event Centre in Nieuwegein.

This will be a great day out for everyone with the slightest interest in aviation. At 10.00 hr we will start with a fair (DSC - Dutch Spotters Convention) where you can buy, sell or swap every aviation related item you can think of (still looking for a nice Santa Claus or X-mas gift?). This will last till late afternoon.
In the mean time you can test you knowledge with the Royal Netherlands Aeronautical Association and earn your Certificates for aircraft recognition. At 13.00 hr the main event of the day will start when a dozen teams compete for the titles Dutch Spotters Champion. Over 30 questions concerning all elements of our great hobby; about serials, pictures, recognition, airports, history, people, knowledge of the highest level is needed to come out on top at the end of the day!
After all this excitement we enjoy a great meal and start the evening 'show'. Colonel Ed Rock tells about his F-105 adventures over Vietnam, Theo van Geffen is a Dutch Journalist who had to opportunity to fly backseat during the last F-105 mission, ever. Erling Brom tells the interesting story about bringing a Lockheed Constellation from Arizona to The Netherlands. We end with a mystery guest (multiple MiG and Su-killer) who will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about modern dog fighting.
Besides the above there is lots more to see and do.

Entry is free and parking is free, so come along for an enjoyable day out.
