Apparently they were. AFAIK (judging by lights and burners) they are up now for the second time since the lights went out.

IF they stay until Wednesday and IF they do this again tomorrow evening there is an extra opportunity to see them without taking a day off.

Mind the 'IF'-s above, this is pure speculation.

Stefan

Hi all,

Just got back from rainy Volkel.

The C-17 is still parked at the crossline.
And both MdM 2000's took off around 14.10lt for a local mission.

I think that there is a slight sense of sarcasm in Stefan's "Superbase"...

In the past it would be very strange if we could double the number of foreign visitors of an entire year in just one week! :)

Yep, a little sarcasm, combined with my well-known ability to change to mind (flexibility is my middle name :-) ).

But: :ontopic:

Both Mirage 2000s took off again 2 minutes ago.

Stefan

The C-17 left today around 11.30. Also the Alphajet and French Mirages left in the afternoon and made a flyby over the 313 sqn part of the field. There was a ground abort of an F-16 because of NWS (nosewheel steering) failure. Pics soon in photoforum.

Forgot to add my smileys again! :-) Don’t think that foreign visitors ever participated in night flying activities at Volkel before.

The C-17 left at 11.54 lt.

U-06 Fokker 50 334sq made one pass at 16.30 lt
…. Beech 200? Made two passes just before 17.00 lt (could have been a Flight Inspection one, not 100%)

Correct!!! the Beech was a Calibration-aircraft....

This one came from Leeuwarden and made some approaches at Volkel.
After the approaches at Volkel it went to Eindhoven for refuel....
