Bye,bye Puma-Last flight SA 330J Puma Hangelar 10122008

Post by zapata742 »

Hi gents,

today another helicopter dissapeared from the German airspace when the last two SA 330J Puma of the German Federal Police had there last flight @ Hangelar.

The weather was cold and with frezzin temperatures, but hey , we are able to cover the last flight of the Puma!

One of the latest ( D-HAXG ) became therefore some special markings, from all units which ever flew the Puma in service since 1973.
Till today 23 were in service and after 35 years in service, and 108.000 Flight Hours they had there last mission today.
A formation of 2 SA 330J Puma ( D-HAXA & D-HAXG ), 1 AS 332 L1 Super Puma ( D-HEGW ) and 3 EC-120 Colibri flew today, plus after that the final 2 Puma and the Super Puma flew a little flying display.
With a stunning and impressive fly-by and low apporaches in front of the guests and personnell they were able to shown, that they are still very agile :respect:

From nowadays 15 AS 332 L1 Super Puma will replace them and till end of next year another 5 will join the fleet, so that from that time 20 "Super Puma" are in service for the next years to come.

Bye,bye Puma .... job well done!!!

Cheers,
Mick

Very nice impression! Too bad that this beautiful helicopter won't fly anymore with the German federal police.

Hi gents,

thanks for all your comments, which are more as welcome!

It was indeed a great day, but a sad day as another helicopter is gone in Germany, but we still have the Super Puma as a replacement thumbsup :D
After I found some time to work on my other pictures from that event, I will post some more.....

Hope you still enjoy them....

Cheers,
Mick
