Great shots you made there.

Is it easy for someone (me and a friend) to get in Ukraine, just for visiting and shooting pictures ??

Assuming you are an EU national, you should have no problem getting in as there are no visa requirements anymore.

Hi,

My best bet would be most (if not all) are taken at Katcha (1, 5, 6, 7,8, 9) and Saki? (2, 3, 4).
Ahhh... sweet memories...

@ Poljot; did you ever visit Yevpatoria recently or the Be-6 preserved near Donuzlav?

Thx for the reactions.

The pictures were taken at: Kacha (1 and 5 till 8), the last picture was taken at Saki and pictures 2 till 4 were taken at Sevastopol a field called Juharina Balka.

Hans: last time I have been at Evpatoria was in 2007. Since 2006 they have been cleaning up the field and moved the Yak-38's into the grass. It looks like they are now concentrating on the maitenance of An-12's.

The Be-6 at Donuzlav should still be there unfortunately I didn't have time to travel all the way from Yalta up to this part of the Krym.

For your info, the pics have all been taken from outside the base although it is sometimes unclear were you are standing: on or of the base. By accident I have been traveling on the taxi tracks and were at some point behind the official gate. Do you remember the official entrance to the AB? It's completely gone and before you know you are next to the choppers and Be-12's. Be aware of the security even in the weekend. There is a lot going on between the Ukrainian Government and the Russian Federation about the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The Ukraine is traying to get as many as possile ground back.

At Omega (helicopter maintance in the centre of Sevastopol) I found many Mil-Mi-8's, 14's and even Ka-25's (probably Indian Navy). Not easy to find and even harder to photograph: lots of security.

Greatings,

Ouch.... well, lets pretend I was close

I was wondering whether it still was there, as it looked pretty bad already on the images I've seen (although there were talks at some point to move it to a museum) - but I still need it as we weren't aware of its existance last time we were in the neighbourhood - and passed it at less then 10 km... :-(

Hmmm... sounds nice.... and I wouldn't mind the photo's as long as I could get the numbers

Anyway, I like the images you've posted!
