REQ Neptune (+photo's)

Post by ssb-spotting »

Today I made these pictures. But I don't know for sure what the function is of the black part. It is located in the topedoroom of the Neptune. It looks like a hydraulic reservoir. The white tube under the tank has a blue end cap. Normally the blue (and also red) end caps becomes used for hydraulic lines and tubes. Above the reservoir you can see a red part (filter/pump?). The other (small) lines go to a panel with nine connection points. It are typical connections for hydraulic pressure lines. Can anyone confirm my conceptoin?

Edit: I forgot something. Is this a tailsection for a Dakota? Or is it anything else?

It's a guess, but I would say it's an additional fuel tank to provide additional range.

The bottom pipe (with the blue end-cap) could be used to connect to a second tank wich could be situated at the spot where the two torpedo's are now.

Hydraulic could be used to drive a fuel pump?

Anyone with a better idea?

Greetz,
Hans

Hello

On the third picture you see a wingsection off a former Dutch Navy SP-13A Atlantic.
I was lying for a long time at MVK Valkenburg dump.

Somewhere I have the serialnumber of the plane where it belongs to?

Its a extra, droppable 350Lbs bombay fuel tank, according to the official Neptune bible ... ("30 jaar neptune bij de kon marine, op de grens van zee en lucht" )

Nice that there are "spare parts" for our Brequet ;) I'm curious what will happen with things like this... The shelters at Soesterberg and the buildings at "Kamp Zeist" are full with aircraftparts.

Probably from TU Delft, a center section of a German Br.1151 was once part of their collection.

As you can see on the construction number plate, this is the former SP-13A 255/V c/n 62 which crashed on 15-01-1981.
