Soviet Transports Database online!

Post by Key »

It's the time of year for presents, and here we are with one we wouldn't mind receiving ourselves...

The Soviet Transports team and Scramble proudly present: the online Soviet Transports Database.
Go to http://www.scramble.nl/sovdb.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; directly, or navigate via the menus on http://www.scramble.nl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; .

As of now, full data is available and searchable, for the airframes published in the Soviet Transports books and the Soviet Updates in Scramble. You can search for registrations or construction numbers and parts thereof, either with or without specifying a type. The use of wildcards is supported and directions on how to use all features, plus examples, are included. Each set of results provides the option to click on single airframes, for full data of those airframes. Feedback forms are provided to send additions, corrections or comments.

Plus: Types not yet covered in above publications, like the Aero Ae 45, Tupolev bombers, and several others including smaller ones.
Plus: Lots of additional data for types covered before, like the Mil Mi-24 and Myasishchev M-4 families, and several historic types.
Plus: Recently disclosed data from the 9Q - register (Democratic Republic of the Congo).
Plus: A full list of used non-standard location codes, for easy decoding.
Plus: Links to additional data, like abbreviations and translations, downloadable production lists and more.

The quarterly Total Updates will be discontinued. The last edition of this document, the January 2009 issue, is now available for download at http://www.scramble.nl/mag.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and http://www.oldwings.nl/st/std.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . The Soviet Updates in Scramble will continue as always.

Have a look, update your logs and let us know about anything you may have to add!

It has everything to do with that quote in italics in the copyright notice. 8)
We hope this will generate a lot of feedback, which will make the db even better over time.

Grote dank!

Erik,

Had a quick look at the database.

The copyright notice can easilly be overlooked IMHO.

You might want to make it more noticable.

Is that quote also subjected to copyright ? ;)

Bye, Chris.
