So people with no knowledge of website building are not allowed to have their own website ?DJdeRidder wrote:Well, nowadays it seems like every spotter should have a website, just because it´s necessary, even people with no knowledge about web design at all.
Sorry, but I have to disagree with you on this; as far as I am aware, you can not copyright the general layout of a website, so you can't violate it either...Crizz wrote:This is pure copyright violation!

Just take it and call it your own without permission sad.
That is a different story, but you can say this of (probably) 99% of all personal websites.rcma wrote:Does not show much creativity from their side.

And yours probably looks like a million other sites, some of which were already on the net years before you started developing afterburner.nl.Maurice wrote:Who cares Crizz! I must say that both your sites look a lot like ours (afterburner.nl) and that one lingers around way longer than both of yours together... I just take it as a compliment, that you like the set up the way we did Cheer up, it is all about showing the content, which is absolutely yours (I asume).
I guess both Planespotters.nl and Aimhigh.nl just happen to use the same template; I can hardly imagine -looking at the source- that they themselves came up with "template like" classes like 'veranda131', 'veranda13_black' and so on; anybody developing their own site would use much more personal "invented" names in their style sheets.mikek1357 wrote:Nowadays alot of templates can be downloaded for free and can be edited in any way you like without having to mention the original designer. I made my website with a template like that and altered it the way I liked it and also tried to have my own style. By designing my own logo, which makes your site recognisable for others.
I couldn't agree more!mikek1357 wrote:To make a long story short, Chris it can be annoying, but it happens alot. There are more aviation related sites that are very different to yours, but where i've seen more similar layouts about the same subject. Especially Joomla designed sites make this very obvious.
Absolutely!Polecat wrote:but still, if u "design" something, you'd want it to stand out I'd say... the moment I would find out an older site in the similar group (planespotting) was so identical, I would change it to be "uniqueish"....
