Will that new terminal really be the sixth?

AFAIK T 1,2 and 3 should be demolished and substituted by one new terminal at the Eastside of the Airport (at the spot of the technical area). At the central area new hangars were projected. This was projected to be finished before the 2012 Olympics.

The third runway has been approved by the present communist leaning British government, which has a high prospect of not being in power beyond June 2010,and both the opposition parties have pledged to scrap any proposal to build the third runway.

Even if the plan gets the go-ahead,expect the mother of all protests to stop this project, with legal challenges to start with, then leading to Bangkok-type blockades.
