"CTR'S ACTIVATED FOR EXTENDED FLIGHT OPERATIONS AND STANDBY COMMITMENTS"

Is it possible there is a meeting in Brussels or so, and that the F-16's are on standby for escort or something like that? Glider activity seems unlikely to me.

kind regards,

Michel

This morning 2 F16's (BAF 431) together with NAF 46 departed towards Kandahar. They joined up above Eindhoven.

Hi Guys,

Dirty log from Florennes today:

F-16A FA98,FA89/FS, FA91/FS, FA92/FS, FA57/FS +2
Falcon 20 G-FRAU
F-16A MM7259, MM7243
F-16C 4055
F-16D 4082
F-15E 91,602/LN, 91-331/LN
Tornado 44+69, 44+65, 46+02, 45+63
EF-18A C15-65/12-23, C15-45/12-03
2000N 358/4-BQ
F-1CT 279/30-QL, 273/30-QF

Left on the ramp are 1 M2000N, 1 F-15E, 1 (grey) Tornado, 2 Italian F-16A's (+2 see below), 1 Italian F-16B, 1 Polish F-16C and 4!!! F-4F's.

Did those Germans arrive in the morning? Too bad we missed them, I guess they arrived really early then.

Offcourse it was rather unfortunetaly that only a select few of the mission flew, but given the weather we are very happy that at least some and off course the most important visitors, the Polish Vipers, flew.
Departing early from Den Haag we encountered heavy rains all the way to Dinant but after we crossed the Meuse it became a little better. A few local F-16's flew in the morning, all encountered heavy crosswinds and with all the rain we excepted the mission to be scrubbed.
Much to our surprise the ramp came to live a little after noon. We decided to walk all through the muddy fields along the fence to get some pictures in the take off and quite soon the two Italians Vipers came taxiing to the runway. However, it took the rest of the team another 25 minutes before joining up, meanwhile the weather turned for the worst again. Massive skies and impressive low clouds came rolling in and the southern wind seemed to shift to the east and to gain much force. It was really getting nasty (there were only 4 or 5 spotters today, no wonder!) but after a long wait the rest of the TLP joined and just when the Polish Vipers taxied by the weather lightened up a little so we could take a few shots without rain and a little more light. Shortly afterwards the clouds closed in again and it got only worse.
The Italian vipers however taxied on to the runway when the Polish (the first of the rest of the team) and returned to ramp via the runway. Don't know why. The Polish did take off and the rest of the TLP did so as well quite rapidly behind each other, but backtracking the runway to the beginning. No doubt due to the weather!!

Take off between 12.40h and 13.10h. We left soon after that!

Cheers,

Indeed 4 F4's where on the TLP platform yesterday morning 10.00, canopies still open.
They did not participate in yesterdays mission.

According mysteryship.nl:
TLP Departure
I 7266, Trapani 18° Gr F-16
As the AMI F-16B came in with this callsign, I assume it is again this AMI F-16B and it has has departed on friday 23 jan.

I will probably be going to Florennes coming Tuesday (so it will be rainy weather I presume :( ). I still need preserved F-84 FU103 which should be near the Lallemant Museum, and apparently is visible from outside. Can someone give me exact directions for this please?
Many thanks in advance!

No flying at TLP Spotters Day??

Post by Soren-a »

Hi

I just noticed that in the TLP section here on scamble it says this under TLP-3:

Month Date Day Mission planned Mission type Area Start Time End Time
20 Wednesday NO Academic Day - SPOTTERS DAY

Does this mean that there will be NO flying on the Spotters day? Will it just be a walk around the aircrafts in the shelter area?
