Reims Champagne (LFSR/RHE) - 2009

Post by Willem »

Hi all,

found below notam this morning about Reims. It states in plain text that Reims airport is closed until april 15th.

B0153/09 NOTAMN
Q) LFFF/QFALC/IV/B/A/000/999/
A) LFSR B) 0901160000 C) 0904152359
E) AD CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC

Does anymbody know if the Mirages have moved for the time or does this notam only apply for civil traffic?

*Moderator, this page has a slight error in the title, the location indicator should be LFSR (as given in the NOTAM) and the IATA code is RHE.

Check, corrected it. No clue on a possible answer to the question BTW

I think 'AD closed to all traffic' means no flights of any description.

"Does anymbody know if the Mirages have moved for the time or does this notam only apply for civil traffic?"

The base closed for civil traffic a few years back, so the Mirages are likely to move elsewhere for the time.

Is it known if it will become a civil airport again once the active AdlA squadrons have left permanently, or in case it remains a reserve air force base, if the civil terminal may be re-opened again for general aviation? It's a nice destination to fly to in a Cessna from Holland..
Rome has Bufalotta, Arizona has alotta BUFF..

Hi,

I was there in the last week before it closed (according to notam). What I found out that day, was that there were quite some flights using FAF**** and were flying to / from Mont de Marsan. Didn't take notice at that time, but perhaps they were already relocating at that time?

Just a gues. Would be nice if anybody could confirm, as I'm passing by Reims / Cambrai in 2 weeks from now.

Is this NOTAM still active, and does someone know if there will be night flying missions next week, if the AD isn't closed?

thx in advance
