I would really like you to stop the gossip about Airpower. It does not help and it is ridicolous. Airpower was confirmed by austrian armed forces and will take place 20.6 / 21. 6. 2008. Publishing news about cancelation is like celebrating a win in lottery, before you have the right tip... Some posers need to post coffee klatsch... There is no cancelation, and also no rumors or anything else. The rest is twaddle!

My info is not gossip, it came from the press days at Linz and Tulln and was confirmed at both places.
I really hope it will go on, but nothing is sure yet!

At Flugzeugforum there was also some "not in this year" talk, coming even from Zeltweg itself.... It should be too unsafe, given the massive building activities taking place there. What they have until now is just a political go ahead, for what it's worth with a new government coming into power in the coming period.

Hi All,

After reading that it is on and then maybe off, I think I will give it a miss and head
for Paris/Volkel instead. I can see me having the same trouble as I did with the Soesterberg salute which got cancelled. I will make Zeltweg during a private visit to Salzburg next year in the hope that the Museum they have at Zeltweg is not closed as for access for construction and the like. Its alright booking flights, but when things get cancelled I'm not prepared to not get a refund like was the case with BMI Baby earlier this
year trying to do Soesterberg. I hope it does go ahead if only for like one poster said, for tourisum and fellow military aircraft fans get to taste the
Austrian action. I'm sure shots of the event will be posted by someone
and I will be full of regret, but I think I will play it safe. Does anyone know if
they intend closing the museum next year there whilst construction work
goes on ? or will it still accessable to the public ?

I really like people asking the cleaning lady about the next capital increase of the company. Some mothers do have them. But I should stop trying to enlighten you, as you are all knowing. To be honest it is an advantage, more space at airpower for locals! 8)

It seems to disturb you that there are rumours that it's still not all in the can by now. I would like to believe you on your word, however during a visit at the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum at Vienna I met some well informed people who told me the contrary. I believe Patrick has the same experience.

By calling these things gossip and using some hollow phrases...I'm sorry but you're not helping. If you are better informed, or you have better contacts, than please say so.

Hi all,

I found a austrian website where the same question is asked.
Because they are more closer to the source, maybe they are faster with
info and so on.
It wouldn't hurt to look at this website once in a while.

If this site is well known, then just ignore this message,

Greetings, Brian.

Read the same thing today in the newspaper "Kurier" of 14th of October.
The show is on the 26 and 27th of juni.

However, in the article there is still a big uncertainty on whether or not it will be held.
Now a politician wants to prosecute against the show, because of the dangers.
Furthermore the constructionactivities are not completed yet, so another uncertainty.

A small positiv note in the article: If the airpower09 does not take place it will certainly be held in 2010. (OK, a very very small positiv note :? )

Still hopes are up for 2009

Regards Brian.

According to flugzeugforum.de the budget is still 800.000 Euro short. Furthermore the local spin-off of the show is questioned now, as most money made at the show is drifting away from the region. A regional governmental request to put in an amount of money has not been handled last monday, as was wanted by the Airpower political supporters, allthough this request can still be handled at a later date.
