According to some messages on Flugzeugforum there will be an airpower demo by the Austrian air force and Patrouille Suisse is also confirmed.
They are trying to get EF2000's of all 5 user countries in the air.

And of course there is always a possibility of cancellation, nothing is sure nowadays

someone asked about the museum in zeltweg earlier in this thread - I want to check it out sometime too ....

according to http://www.luftstreitkraefte.at" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which is maintained by local officials the museum will be open in 2009 from may 8 to october 18 (closed mondays)

If already 50 km around zeltweg is all booked out I would consider going straight to the city of Graz which is about 100 km away and could make for a good combination for the overall weekend airshow and a stay in a nice city

(any students here? I started the "Airpower Zeltweg 2009" group on the studivz.net community)

... and looking forward to the show I see no reason or heard of nothing that would still make the event uncertain even though the local and little communist party requested an immediate stop of all preperations ...

Hello,

First timer here! Anyone with experience regarding the latest version of this event? I am wondering, do you need to be
at the special spotterszone for great pictures? Maybe example pictures for the difference? Any tips regarding the show/mm's/traffic/etc are appriciated.

Thanks in advance,

Arco

Oh, just noticed:
see http://cavok-aviation-photos.net/Airpower05.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for shots taken from the hill on the western side of the runway, particularly the Patrulla Aguila, the helos and the Mirage. You will be OK with 400 mm max.

Hans.

The Alps indeed. Beautiful backdrop for pics if you care for that part of aviation photography, that is. I'm going just the same, spotter's package or not.

good morning!
about the previous day arrivals (25th)... do you know if are the guests expected to arrive just the previous day? They usually arrive in the morning or also in the afternoon?

Which side of the airfield is right for the landings?
Thankyou ;)

I don't see any real advantage photographywise concerning this spotterszone. The crowdline runs adjecent to the taxiway and runway. Excellent pics can be made. Check http://www.gvr-aviation.nl/portfolio/ai ... index.html

As with the majority of airfields, this depends on the wind. I guess it is not possible to tell from which direction that wind will come some 4 months in advance
