JC-12D ?

Post by Polecat »

During a trip to the states I took a pic of a C-12 at Fort Rucker which according to several databases is a JC-12D (23140).. Could anybody tell me what a JC-12D is, as I'm not able to google any info on this subvariant.....

See: http://www.wikihow.com/Understand-US-Mi ... signations" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

J – Special Testing, Temporary. Aircraft with equipment temporarily installed for testing.
C – Transport (Cargo)

A C-12 is based on the Beech 200/1900, so in this case a test variant of the (light) transport aircraft. Can't say what is tested exactly, but this may answer your question..

Hi all,

This PDF link has a bit more details about the removed equipment:

Thnx for the effort.... DJ
I know about the J designation.. as afaik it can be e temp mod (in contrast to N which is a permanent change)
But if there's nothing visible externally and it''s in a standard white c/s...no way to tell if it's a JC-12D instead of a regular C-12D I guess?

Interesting reading Frank! But it still doesn't solve the puzzle.. (Don't know if the mods will allow one piccie.....

We also saw the heavily modified icing JRC-12G (80-23380) but from the outside this one looks quite "stock", despite both the Scramble database and Joe Baugher list this a/c as JC-12D...
