Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Some photos taken at Manston in the summer of 1983. I really hope that I've not uploaded them here before...
First a Wessex at the local airfield, two of these were standing close to the public road.
Image

The fire dump was public too, no fences at all.

Bjorn,

That vehicle is wat most people call a "CAR". It is used to transport people from point "A" to point "B'. It`s not realy an aircraft, only when i`m driving it is called a "LOW FLYING OBJECT". And I`m the first operator.

Groet,
Martijn

Niels

This Hunter is preserved at "Bosbad Hoeven" in The Netherlands for many years.
Image

Being outside for such a long time is not good for this aircraft as you can see

Hi Niels,

Do you know which squadron badge is (or should I say: was) on the tail? I saw the aircraft not too long ago but in the dark, so couldn't make it from the distance we were standing. And also on your pics I can't tell!
Cheers,

The tailbadge is the scorpion, don't know by heart what squadrun number goes with that.., and yes, this aircraft is preserved and received a new paintjob before she was parked there, but the aircraft is on loan from the MLM and bosbad Hoeven is not allowed to change anything on the original paintjob in which it was delivered.
It is there intention though to clean her from al the algea and dirt before bosbad opens up again for the new season.
(this is at least what I have been told by a gardener who was working there and who was kind enough to let me in to take similar pictures late last year)
