Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Thanx Erik for the input. As I wrote before I am new in digital photography so converting RAW into JPEG is still a real challenge for me so I know I will do much better in the near future... I guess, I hope...

On my Windows based computers the PC-9 shot looks a little red, mainly the sky, although this is probably the best PC-9 shot I've ever seen from Meiringen. Some others also seem to have a little bit too much red, for me mainly visible in the sky again. Could be that my own shots also look a little weird on a mac? What colour profile are you using, sRGB or Adobe? Or is it different on a mac? Anyway, keep up the good work!

Your shot definately don't look 'weird' on my Mac... What I remember when playing with Apple Aperture 2 en Nikon Capture NX 2 I opened the RAW in ProPhoto RGB and converted them into JPEG (color space sRGB) but maybe I forgot an important 'something' in the excitement :-) I will have a look later but again thanx for the input!!! So far I have learned a lot... and/but there is still much more to learn!!!

Generally it is best to finish images for the web in sRGB, as the colour gamut in web browsers can not cope with Adobe1998 RGB's wider gamut. Finishing images in Adobe1998 RGB can result in purples turning blue f.i.

Okay, some more...

Meiringen offers a very great oppertunity to stand near the taxiway during WK when the wartime taxiway towards RWY10 is in use...
Image

Hornets departing the caverns...
Image

You can even stand on the taxiway when the planes are passed by, ask the guard first if it's ok to do...
Image

They need the burners to get out off the valley and hop over the mountains, never noticed a non-burner takeoff...
Image

Breakchutelandings are common by the Tigers...
Image

Trafficjam after returning from a mission, Staffel11 roaring Tigers returning to the caverns...
Image

Will prepare some more later...

during WK flying could start as early as 0800LT and last flight returning before 1800LT. They have a midday break approx between 1200 and 1300LT +/- half an hour...

Here some late afternoon landings...

Mouthdrooling shots

One remark though on the excellent PC9 shot of Jeroen, or the written commentairy that is (couldn't find anything wrong with it  ) it's banking left instead of right.

Eventhough the secenery and the weather contribute a whole lot to these kind of pictures, I truly have to say I didn't see one single bad picture is this topic. Beautiful, crisp and clear pictures guys! Must have been a great time being there, I have to go next time!
