Nimes-Garons (LFTW/FNI) - 2009

Post by Tintin »

Since today and during one week, six Super-Etendards and two Rafales M are awaited in BAN Nîmes-Garons for training exercises (including night trainings). These aircraft are coming from Landivisiau and belong to the GAE (Charles de Gaulle carrier).

For info, Nîmes-Garons will be closed in 2011.

During a recent spotters trip, I visited Nimes-Garons. Not much going on though and I didn't want to wait too long here for the few things that were about to fly with superbase Istres nearby.

7-8 October 2009 Nimes-Garons

05 Br.1050 ex 6F preserved
31 Br.1150 ex 21F preserved
(49), (50), (52) Br.1050 ex 6F stored
(53), (55) Br.1050 ex 6F stored
(69), (75) N.262E ex 28F stored
87 C-47 ex FN preserved
1075/F-ZBAF SE.3160 ex Sec. Civile preserved at Sec. Civile gate
TR-LTZ DC-8-73CF Gabon Gvmt stored

Visitors:
19, 62 S. Etendard 11F
11 Rafale M 12F

Locals:
1, 15 ATL2 21F
77 EMB.121AN 28F

Also a short visit was paid to the Securite Civile department where I was able to photograph all helicopters, but somehow managed to miss one EC.145 in my enthusiasm!

1003/F-ZBEA AS.350B2 Sec. Civile
9012/(F-ZBPF) EC.145 Sec. Civile
9017/F-ZBPJ EC.145 Sec. Civile
9020/F-ZBPK EC.145 Sec. Civile
(9023)/F-ZBPN EC.145 Sec. Civile
(9056)/F-ZBPZ EC.145 Sec. Civile
(9058)/F-ZBQB EC.145 Sec. Civile
9064/(F-ZBQF) EC.145 Sec. Civile
1x EC.145 Sec. Civile

Quite strange to see Ecurieul 1003/F-ZBEA in service again with the Sec. Civile. I noted the helicopter before as Police National (after having been converted from Sec. Civile service), but somehow it returned again to it’s previous owner.

The images will be posted here.

Cheers,
