G-VLCN ex XH558 although still pointed at by its ex military registration, also by the operators.

Jimmy
Haha he is also listed for Volkel RNLAF, first see of he is really going?
The vulcan owes a lot to RIAT, due to money generating during the restoration by their postorder operation, (there was a gentleman's agreement if the machine got airborne, it should display at Fairford, because of this) so RIAT sounds quite reasonable to me (instead Volkel due to the clinging with LBG, which was at TVOC's wishlist from the begining).
but isn't it possible that she 'll come to volkel the first day(friday) just like the eurofighter and hawk?

Hi,

I'm planning to go to the RIAT this year (first time). When checking the participants list, I noticed that there aren't any US aircraft used for flying, only for static. Is there a reason for this or do these participants still need to be confirmed?
I have no idea how long the updating of the participants list goes on for.

There are still a few more updates to come. Next one is most likely going to be On Friday May 15.

You can also tell the truth there is no hope for any USAF or NAVY jet display. With some luck B1-B or B-52, but I would not really count on it. Poorest participation of USAF for 2009 ever. But who cares after cancellation of Harrier, GR4, F3, Role demo and so on! :evilbat:

I only hope for more special foreign participants, if I would rely on USAF or RAF participation I could burn my ticket right now... :nonono:

Amazingly an Omani BAC111.
I would have thought these would have been retired by now.

You're right. It looks rather bland as far as flying is concerned. But remember last year's show got binned because of the weather.
The role demo was rather good in 2007. If you want to see something like the role demo, come to Volkel's Open Day in the Netherlands.

In my opinion it would be time for something different indead. Lets hope they reschedule with a different type... think most of us have seen the Oman BAC1-11's by now?

Mind you, I have nothing against a BAC 111, just didn't expect it anymore. I would have thought one of the new Airbusses more likely.

Enjoy them while you still can :!: The Airbus A320-series aren't the most exciting aircraft around...

Okay, that's true. I have nothing against a BAC1-11 also... but judging on last 20 years it would be good for the variation and the variety to see something different from a country now and then.
