Song 757 registration-switch

Hi,

can someone help my dad with the 757 on the photos below?
As you can see the registration is painted on as N608DL, however in all the production and fleetlists we've found it is listed as N608DA with constructionnumber 22815.
Does anyone have more info on this registration switch? the photo was taken in september 2005

Hmm, this one is weird....
Airfleets.net does not show any returns for N608DL
Scramble does not show any returns for N608DL
Airlinerlist does not list N608DL
Airliners.net does not have any (recognizable) pictures of N608DL

So, have you been photoshopping?

No, because there ARE some pictures on MyAviation.net (although not very well either).

Please zoom in on the first picture at MyAviation.net and you will find out it's actually N608DA....!!

Guess it was just a painting error when this B757 was transfered from Delta to Song.
Perhaps after a while a smart ass noted this mistake and they corrected it into N608DA.

Very presumably that is has been changed into DL.

And with the Department of Transportation it is on their lists for the "Civil Reserve Air Fleet" (CRAF) for the USAF as N608DL from at least 2003 to 2009. For instance on http://www.dot.gov/ost/oet/craf/CFLR1005.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But with the FAA N608DL is registered as a Cessna 172 since at least September 2004, but probably much longer as in June 1982 the N608DL, a Ce172P with the same MSN (17274998) had a mishap

Looks to me Delta requested N608DL as usual, but was denied as being already taken, requested N608DA instead (as usual again), but information about this "switch" didn't make make it all the way to the people involved - and they still didn't inform the USAF about it

Not just an ordinary paint error.....

That's for sure (but not the point). Saw N608DA as Song at JFK 30/10/05 and as Delta at LAX 07/02/08

N608DA is previously used by Song.
Maybe the owner of the website knows more about this mistake?

so I guess something went wrong with its paintjob and N608DA and N608DL are actually the same airframe.
