EHAM 14-05-2009 MIL

Post by Stratofreighter »

According to thread http://www.scramble.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=51871" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; this Thursday the 14th of May Avro Lancaster PA474 may at long last make a local testflight, to be followed by a trip back home. :)
This may also mean that more RAF movements could be seen at Schiphol-East this Thursday...

Hi there,

I just came back of the place where the Lanc is standing.
I spoke to a person there who told me that the PA 747 is not leaving before monday the 18th because of the weather.

Regards,
Joyce

PS I work in a building with a view on the platform

I've just been over there (I think I might have walked passed you Joyce as I was going over with my camera)

The Lanc is no longer on the Apron - I think it was relocated back in the DDA Hangar about half an hour ago - did manage to get a couple of shots, though it is difficult through a fence.

Is there anyone on here tied to the DDA ? Maybe they could find out some information that way

I just got back from the DDA, and a mechanic told me that tomorrowmorning (schedule is 10:00u local time) the BoBMF Dakota is landing with their pilots and that the Lancaster is making a testflight soon after that.

I can confirm the above message by Lennert, I was there too

There is just one thing I'd like to add, the mechanic also clearly stated: "If the weather is good enough." Forecasts aren't looking to great for tomorrow, but hey, at least the winds are more calm then they have been the first half of this week.

I'm very much hoping the Lanc will finally depart tomorrow so I can get my head around to other stuff needing my attention  :P

Me too - one so I can get to see the majestic beast where she should be, in the sky, and two, so I can stop lugging all my camera gear into work with me.

Definately has been less windy today, although I am getting conflicting reports about tomorrow - BBC says heavy rain, but I prefer the one on my sidebar that says 18 degrees and sunny :D
