Police EC135P2+ G-WMAO attacked and destroyed by fire

Eurocopter EC135 P2+ c/n 0501 G-WMAO West Midlands Police Authority, Birmingham. DBF on 8 June 2009. The aircraft was attackted by arsonists at its landing site at Elmdon Airport on the site of Birmingham International Airport just before 2 am.

This was the second attack on a Police helicopter in the UK this year as the G-SURY was attacked on 30 April:
Eurocopter EC135 T2 c/n 0283 G-SURY Surrey Police Air Operations Unit, was vandalised by gipsies at the force’s helipad at Fairoaks airport on 30 April 2009. They smashed five windows with axes.

Voor de tweede keer dit jaar is in de UK een politie helikopter aangevallen.
Op 30 april werd de EC135T2 G-SURY met behulp van bijlen tijdelijk buiten gebruik gesteld.
Op 8 juni brandde de EC135P2+ G-WMAO na brandstichting volledig uit.

It is unfortunate the UK police do not operate AH-64Ds and blow gypsies and other groups who attack helicopters off the face of the earth.
