Two minor things:

*The RAF Beech 200 was also parked at the parallel runway, at least on Saturday, but on the far far right side.
*According to the Scramble DB, the Slovakian L-39 is a L-39ZAM.

(notes: for the first time since 15 years, I missed the chance to witness the arrival days of the ‘Luchtmacht Dagen’ - due to serious illness. However, after one week in the hospital, I used the first opportunity for the short journey to Volkel – all alone, as a joined tour with a friend could not be realised. In order to reduce stress and support the healing process, I used the chance to park on private ground near the runway 24 approach for just 3 Euro and to observe flying operations from outside the base perimters.
My highlight of the flying display was the airpower demonstration of the Netherlands Air Force, featuring 15 based F-16s and five very welcome supporting helicopters. Also of major interest was a four-ship of Strikemasters, while a joined display of the Vulcan, a historic Hunter and a Dutch F-16 was a very nice surprise. The day ended with a a lot of departures after the end of the flying display, including no less than eight Dutch military helicopters and the amazing Polish MiG-29 ...)

This was J-063, not J-013.

Seen on Saturday:
Parked/flying from safari-park:
F-GLHF CM170 (ex FAF 406)
PH-ACG Fokker S11 marked as 179/K (ex 179/K, E-36)
RA-3482K YAK-3U marked as "48" white

Parked on parallel runway was also a DH82a Tiger Moth: PH-VMS (ex OO-TGM, G-ADCG, A2126, A728, BB731, G-ADCG)

Inside hangar 1 were large parts of F104G D-8256.

I don't believe the Turkish Stars are flying with the "2000" model. I saw the cockpit and it looks quit original.

Hi,

I didn't notice it at all....

All I know is that both the Scramble datebase and the On Dutch Wings database mention these bird as 2000s.

Maybe someone can tell us more about this?

Best regards, Rob.

Thanks for posting your logs guys, it really helps.

The Turkish Stars F-5's were identified by the blade-antenna on the "back" of the aircraft, as it is thought that this is a feature of the "2000" model. Hans maybe wright that they aren't "2000's" but just partially upgraded involving this blade-antenna. So confirmation of this from anyone would be very helpfull!

Klaas
