The Swaziland Airshow 2009 is on and happening, on Saturday the 29th August 2009.
This year's event is themed a Military Airshow in celebration of Swaziland Defence

Greetings. This email serves to inform you that the Swaziland Air Show 2009 has
been postponed to Saturday the 26th September 2009.

Please be advised that we were informed today that our national Umhlanga (Reed
Dance) Ceremony is being held over the same weekend as our intended air show (from
the 25th August to the 31st August), with the main event being over the Friday,
Saturday, Sunday and Monday. In respect hereof and also, in view that our Defence
Force Airwing is required to provide air surveillance over this period, we have had
to postpone our date.

However, from speaking with the display pilots / teams prior hereto, a change of
date was being suggested by more than one pilot on account of the 2 other air shows
and the EAA Conference all on the same date as our Swaziland air show. Before
concluded the new date (the 26-09-09) we made sure that no other aviation activity
was taking place on the same day. Therefore, it is hoped that this change in date
will be welcomed more people and we look forward to their participation.

Please be advised that our Director of Civil Aviation has been notified of the
change of date and he has verbally accepted the same. A written request for this
change has also been made.
