Very, very nice pics! All of them.
But I must say I find it funny. Even though I consider operational streaks as being more "Ouh - Aah" material than Ramstein Phantoms at Soesterberg.... I do not get as sentimental with this topic as with the 80ties topic of Soesterberg. Maybe because in the 60ties my parents hadn´t even met each other yet.....

In any case, more is always better 8) Please keep them coming!

Robert,

For this moment I have found only two B/W negatives of the P-205, there must be more; I also found some time to scan & edit them.

Thank you Roel.

This was an unexpected visit, as almost everything related to spotting was in these days, four Streaks from from Gioia del Colle, 36 Stormo, 156 gruppo: 36-40/53-6970, 36-45/53-6682, 36-48/53-6975 and 36-49/53-6819 stayed for the weekend.
We, a few persons (boys then), were allowed to take pictures of these Streaks on this gray Saturday 31-08-1968 and I am happy that I still have (all) my negatives. I will edit my scans of the other three ones also.

This Topic has passed the 40.000 view mark a few days ago and has undoubtedly proved its success!! :D
To celebrate this milestone a few contributions from my side will be appreciated , I hope.

(1) Dutch Thunderstreaks at Eindhoven in 1969
Image

(2) Two Dutch Thunderstreaks on finals to Eindhoven in 1968
Image

(3) Especially for our friends in Greece : Hellenic Air Force Thunderstreak at Larissa in 1972
Image

(4) Hellenic Air Force Thunderflash RF-84F also at Larissa in 1972
Image

(5) Belgian Thunderstreak as a monument at Florennes in 1979

To Rob and others : keep posting such nice pictures like you already did. I enjoy watching them very much again and again.
Till next time!

Nice additions to the thread. Excellent camera work, Rob. I agree the ItAF 36-48 is a wonderful shot!

52-7051 is from an old color print of mine from around April, 1965. Apologies for the quality, but from this one we can see that after IRAN, many of the Thunderstreaks were issued to the ANG with gray fuselage paint, similar to "ADC" gray. This was taken at Barnes ANGB, Westfield, Massachusetts. Green external tank tips normally would mean assignment to the 101st TFS, but I think this aircraft was assigned to the 131st TFS.

Image

Five years later and the Thunderstreaks of the 131st TFS had camo like 51-1662 seen landing at Barnes airport below

Image

There are many Thunderstreaks/Flashes/Jets preserved in the States. Here is a preserved ANG example from Rickenbacker ANGB, Ohio on 3 Sep 95. Painted as 51-1346.
Image

Another from the ESAM Museum at Glenville (Schenectady), New York
Image

This one from Volk Field, Wisconsin in July, 1994 reputed to be 51-9365
Image

At the museum at Travis AFB, California on 15 October 1996 we see 52-6359. I have no idea what unit they are intending this aircraft to represent, but it is colorful!
Image

And finally, from Camp Robinson, Arkansas, 55-1817 is displayed, though no F-84F was assigned that serial.

A few more from prints to add to the thread. The mounted Thunderstreak below was located outside Keelser AFB, MS., where I photographed it in 1966 along US Highway 10. It is likely that this F-84F display, and everything else in the vicinity was blown away by hurricane Camille, forty years ago today.
Image
Here is a very bad shot-apologies all around-of an Arkansas ANG RF-84F Thunderflash taxying at Gulfport, MS in March, 1966
Image
And a Thunderstreak of the 101st TFS, Massachusetts ANG at Boston-Logan in 1965. It appears as though the aircraft is in the hands of a ground crewman. The 101st squadron was an old one, activated as the 101st Observation Squadron in 1921, and inactivated following its last F-15 Eagle flight in January, 2008.

please don't apologise for shots like these Tom! At that time my parents were practising or at least thinking of making me, and the fact that you have pics of those days at all is great!! One obviously can't always expect super quality from 43 years ago!!
Love your contributions (and those from the other guys too!) and I still hope that one day a F-84 will fly across Europe as a jet warbird.. (So many countries flew them, should be profitable to operate one I reckon....)

Beautiful pics Tom, it's always a pleasure to see photographs of US Streaks.

Some regular ones taken at Welschap/Eindhoven somewhere in the sixties (± 1967), scans from my negatives:
