Barcelona (LEBL/BCN) - 2009 CIV

Post by canberra »

Hi,

Spend New Years in Barcelona and before depature on January 3, I noted the below.

As usual first the reqs:
B777 SQ378/377
A340 AR1160/1161 (ATD 1110L)

'highligts' for me were
CS-DXT Ce560XL
EI-DXY A320 Rossia
N19141 B752w CO (via ACARS)
N39367 B763 AA
PH-BGF B73Gw KL
RA-64020 Tu204 Redwings
VP-BPD B735 Transaero
YR-BGP B738w

Many more bizjets on the GA parking including a least one Gulfstream and 3 big Falcons, but none identified

All the best, Michael

Thanks a lot Michel and Boeing767

Two extra new frames from BCN and with Michels MUC answers an extra scrape there.

I looked at Alexis Antonakis' OTT site myself (which I thought was one of the most complete ACARS/SBS sites) but had no luck so I was plesantly suprised to see my reqs answered so quickly here :D

Any chance you want to share your sources for future use

All the best, Michael

Barcelona Airport Spotting Platform

Post by United 777 »

Spanish Airport Authority AENA has constructed a viewing platform at Barcelona Airport. The 'spotting tower' has been build alongside the threshold of runway 25R. This new facility should make a visit to El Prat even more enjoyable. :D

Credits go to airportspotting.com (had some trouble with posting a link that works). More information and pictures can be found by clicking on the words read it here on the website mentioned above.

Great to see some airports really do acknowledge that many people (both spotters and "normal" people  ) are interested in looking at aircraft...

BCN is quite interesting for spotting, however after 1300lt at saturdays traffic slows down rapidly. HV5131 arrived at concourse A at T2, which allows you to stay airside all day (that is if you allready managed to check in for your return leg). Terminal 2 offers good views at the operations. Only GAT is hard to read off because jets are parked nose-on towards the terminal. I didn't bother leaving the terminal, so I probably missed some GAT-visitors. During my stay runways changed about every 3-4 hours and even cross runway 20 was used for landings today, which forced Transaero's VP-BQC to land at the shortest of BCN's runways and the captain managed to vacate the runway at the latest of meters.
T1 houses Star Alliance and is located between all runways, which seems to be the best location for spotting airside as all trafic has to pass this terminal either when taxiing to their parking position or when departing.

All,

seems I forgot to ad a tie-up-request to my BCN log dated 22-08-2009. I'm looking for following:
1) 2x 752 VIM Airlines (NN331 and NN335)
2) 1x LS 733 - arrived 18.45 appr.

Furthermore at GAT a N-registred G550 was parked all day.

Thanks for the infos!!
