Nellis, Red Flag 09-05. and the others!

Hi there,

Finally had the time to do some work on my pictures.
I spent a week at Nellis from 24 till 27 august for Red Flag and what is it hot there.
Had a great time but be sure to bring enough to drink. Nice to meet some US spotters good to talk to you.

Am I right as I suggest that there's something wrong with the rocket bay of the F-22 Raptor? Furthermore very nice pictures, I like the very first picture the most, because of the "special effects" ;)

Thanks for your comment.

There was nothing wrong with the F-22 a few seconds after it passed me the pilot closed the door.
So he was like `` he look at my rocket isnt it cool`` :D .

And i am also very happy with the first one seeing it was shot directly in the sun.

Very nice shots, the weapon bay doors shot is cool. That Aim-9x is mounted under an angle so maybe that is what ssb spotting meant? It 's supposed to look like that, but usually the bay is closed upon landing.

More please..! :D

Yes Andras, also the angle of the rocket looks strange.... But I thought it is not very usual that the weapon bay doors are opened during the landing ;)

That is how the missile rail and missile are mounted into the weapons bay to ensure it clears the aircraft when fired.

Wow the departing Eagle is as sharp as a knife. Well done!
That Aim-9x is mounted under an angle so maybe that is what ssb spotting meant?
That's not an AIM-9X is it? It think it's an M version with an inert warhead (denoted by the blue stripe) But who cares? :wink:

:D Typing stuff does make some difficult interpretations. Who knows what i mean? :wink:

Can mean 2 things:

1. He does not know that it is supposed to hang that way (That is what i meant)
2. He thinks it is broken because it is in an open configuration, and that is not usual, but he knows that the missle is supposed to hang that way.

The x in my Aim-9x can stand for anything. I do not know which one it is... Hence the x (Otherwise it would be capital X, but then it should be AIM as well.. sorry for that..)

Just to clear out all the same answers of everyone..
Then again, who cares right? :drinking:

p.s. Is that break dust coming from the main gear of that Eagle or is it an exhaust that is blowing out fumes?... Cool shot as well!

Sorry for the late reaction i was standing at 36°15'53.71"N 115° 0'46.22"W and from there it is just look at what the aircraft are doing. You need to walk up and down sometimes depending on how the aircraft make there turn.

If you are quickly and lucky you can make some good pictures of the HH-60 when they leave or come in to land at this point 36°15'13.71"N 115° 1'54.93"W.

This spot is also good 36°16'25.15"N 114°59'52.17"W. A-10`s often turn at this point so you can take some top side pictures.
