All,
Today I saw PH-PXA flying overhead Den Haag. When he contacted RTM-tower,he called himself Police 01.
Does this mean the EC.135's will use fixed call-signs, so PH-PXB would be Police 02 etc. ??

Yesterday afternoon the same for PH-PXA, also on ModeS his callsign is showing as 'ZXP01'. I personally haven't heard or ModeS-logged other police aircraft with this sequence.topsafe wrote:Today I saw PH-PXA flying overhead Den Haag. When he contacted RTM-tower,he called himself Police 01.
It could be a new ICAO designator to be used in flightplans!theguide wrote:Yesterday afternoon the same for PH-PXA, also on ModeS his callsign is showing as 'ZXP01'. FYI, Schiphol CISS also uses this new fixed system for Police choppers.Aviaphotos wrote:Indeed, flightnumber "ZXP01" was used in it's flightplan to and from EHRD.
The pilot confirmed the new callsigns to EHRD Tower just after the first contact.
