(for the warbird lovers) Shoreham Airshow - 24th of august

Post by Thermal »

After seeing some pics from Flightline UK of the arrivals at this show I decided tot drive down to Shoreham today to visit the show. And boy what a good decision that turned out to be. Great weather and great aircraft.

Highlights for me were the Vulcan XH558 which gave a short display, the B-17 Sally B, and the Lancaster 'Phantom of the Ruhr'. And to top it off , there was the Battle of Britain re-enactment. The field was 'attacked' by a HA-1112 Buchon and a Me-108 (both representing Me-109's), this was accompanied by explosions on the ground and anti aircraft bursts in the air. Three Hurricanes were scrambled and a 'dogfight' ensued over the field. Looked amazing!

Unfortunatley I only had my compact camera with me. So nice air shots were no option. And besides that, during most of the air action we were looking into the sun. But took some pics of the static though. So apologies for the quality but I just want to give you an idea of the show.

Big thanks for the organization. Best show in years! If you ever get the chance to go: Go!

I think I have missed something... Nice to see Marinell and the Hurribomber there.
Could you, for possible future use in Scramble , send both pictures in maximum pixels? (min 1600 wide)
