I live in Thailand during the northern winters and am in Thailand now.
At this time tension with Cambodia and expected protests in the new year by supporters of the ousted PM Thaksin Shinawatra have caused the authorities to tighten security at airports across Thailand.
Open photography is not advised at any field as a result and utmost discression should be exercised.
Someone I know was ordered to leave Suvarnabhumi airport for spotting landside around a month ago by security.
Normally spotting is no problem at bases, but in light of the above, caution is highly advised.Local civilian people should be no problem, but open photography on main roads(this has happened despite the obvious dangers in the past) outside bases should be avoided.Keep out of sight.
