Tuesday, September 22, 2009, five youths (aged 18-22) were arrested by Dutch military police for endangering air traffic by shining laser lights at aircraft. At around 22.00 lt a RNLAF Apache crew was repeatedly targeted by them in the vicinity of Eindhoven Airbase. The crew alerted Eindhoven Tower, who in turn alerted military police. The Apache then proceeded to guide the patrol car towards the culprits. They were apprehended and face fines. Source: Dutch Ministry of Defence news release.
Although it's just stupid to point lasers at aircraft, it maybe even more to point one at a helicopter that is designed to have complete overview of the surroundings with all the state of the art camera's etcetera
