Post by Jaap »

On 1 October 60 years PR China will be celebrated with a massive parade on the ground and also in the air.

If I understand it correctly the following will fly over Beijing (in brackets the origional model name)

Flight 1 KJ2000 + 10 J7GB (=Il-76 AWACS + 1 August demo team)
2* KJ2000
Flight 2: 2*Y8GX + 4 J11B (=Electronic Warfare An-12 + Su-27)
Y8GX
Flight 3: HU6 + 3* J8F (Tu-16 tanker + latest generation F-8)
Flight 4: 3*3 H6G (Tu-16 bomber)
Flight 5: 3*5 J8F
Flight 6: 3*5 J10 (Lavi look-alike)
Flight 7: 3*4 J11B
Flight 8: 4*5 JH7A (fighter-bomber)
Flight 9: 3*5 JL8 (trainer)
Flight 10: 3*5 Z8 (Super Frelon transport+SAR versions =Z8K and Z8KA?)
Flight 11: 2*5 Z9 (SA365)
Flight 12: 1*9 Z9WA (Armed SA365)

--English please!

Yep, my guess is that it's a Su-27SK, the type is in the process being retired. I believe 10000sqm is added to the museum, resulting in a few months closure until next week.
You can see they reshuffled the whole lot. A J10 (10132) and 3 J8As (30655, 30657, 30658) were added last March, and maybe more afterwards.

I've been to the museum on april 22nd. The J-10S is a mockup, the J-11B is the real thing (still need the serial) Also didnt see the J-8 30655 (Saw 7x J-8)

I've heard the museum was closed now because of renovations and new buildings but should re-open today because of the celebrations!

Nice....

So with Y8GX they meant the AEW version KJ200 (only 6-bladed Y8 version)
