French military reinforcement in Afghanistan ???

Prime Minister Fillon announced today a military reinforcement in Afghanistan, consisting in three helicopters (one Caracal and two Gazelle Viviane) and UAVs.
That's an ENORMOUS reinforcement!!!
I'm sure that our troops on the field will feel safer...

Hi all,

Three SEM of 17F deployed at Kandahar since August, came back to Landivisiau yesterday.
They have been replaced by three Mirage 2000D of Nancy, rejoining three already there.

Hi all,

This summer, three helicopters Tigre (5°RHC) will be sent in Afghanistan, for their first operational deployment.
Three Gazelle are already there.

The three choppers arrived at Kaboul airport on july 26th by an An-124 of Volga Dnepr.

And two more choppers arrived in Kabul on october 8th by Volga-Dnepr An-124: two AS-532 Cougar, bringing total to 11 helicopters in Afghanistan (3 Gazelle, 3 Tigre, 3 Caracal and 2 Cougar).
