Just out of curiosity: how sure are you of this? I had a go at it with a 60x telescope around 16:30 local time, but couldn't make anything out of it other than I confirmed it to be a Rafale B

I was at St Dizier 260609 where M2000D 613/133-MO made an overshoot.
Does anybody have some info as to what unit this deuxmille actually belongs to or used to belong to?
Tailmarks (the Hog's head) indicates it is EC 3.003 Ardennes, but that's not consistent with the code M.., or infact ANY of the Nancy or other M2000 codes...
Would be nice if someone could bridge the gap!

No the system is simple to understand...Sjoerd wrote: Actually I think it is too early to tell if there's a certain system for these codes
Cheers,
It seems more ore less logical indeed. The noted 133-L. and 102-L. codes can in that case be explained as former EC03.011 (Djibouti a/c) at the time of activation of this new system. Was this a guess from your side, or do you have well informed sources on the inside? In that case, can you also pls explain where "OACI" stands for?57HEAVY wrote:No the system is simple to understand...Sjoerd wrote: Actually I think it is too early to tell if there's a certain system for these codes
Cheers,
Last year all the codes( so the oaci registration of the aircraft) were frozen for life for each aircraft so it means that it will keep his oaci registration for life.
If last year, at the "frozen"moment the alpha jet was at cazaux with its code 8-nd , and then transferred to ec2/2 at dijon it is 102-nd!and if in the future it will be transferred to TOURS EAC 314 , its code will be 705-ND.
Only the aircraft on short term storage at CHATEAUDUN at the "frozen moment" are using now once back in active duty the"M" code.
So ...very clear!
Yes indeed , the "L" code belong to former djibouti a/c.This is not a guess this was explained by french air force officials because behind the new codification there is a new set up of maintenance system in the whole french air force.Sjoerd wrote: It seems more ore less logical indeed.
