That's something I like to seeThey even use them to drop four special forces with a fast rope, whilst flying very low and slow.....
Maybe they fly in a very tight turn, much like the E-6 Mercury TACAMO planes, those with thre long trailing antennas for communicating with submarines. That way, the rope will point down by itself. At least, that is what the TACAMO's antenna does. Just a thought... Would like to see it though.tomh wrote:Hah! I was wondering if that's possible. [joke]Lets see, with one guy on the rope that is good at math, maybe he could calculate how fast to swing the rope to the rear to reduce the effective ground impact speed down to 30kts. [/joke] Is it on Youtube somewhere? Maybe with inline skates?
I still remember one day (the only time I was able to see a German OV-10) I was at Mönchengladbach with someone who knew where the Bronco's could be seen.Slijfie wrote: And one at Mönchengladbach airfield. The Flugziel Darstellungs Gruppe had a detachment here, but you had to be lucky to see them. One day in June 1986 I was lucky and saw two. We were even invited to enter the platform and help the ground crew (civilians) towing the aircraft to the hangar. You might notice that 99+17 has a closed backside, not a glass one.
