Into the distance, a ribbon of black
Stretched to the point of no turning back
A flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone my senses reeled
A fatal attraction is holding me fast
How can I escape this irresistible grasp?

Maverick80,

I really do not understand your comment. what errors were made? I see two separate messages. The first message to notify the fact that an accident happened and the second to notify that the search for the pilot stopped. Also, these messages are online since mid-October. And what has the movie you saw have anything to do with this??? It's a little bit disrespectfull

Well, when this movie was shot I guess real MiG-29/21s were not readily available so they had to do with stand-ins. What about Top Gun and their MiG-28s? :P

Dat ergert me wel.
Above message was originally posted in response to a discussion in the Dutch tadle-lounge, but was moved here by a moderator.
First, my excuse for replying so late.
I slipped my attention!

The discussion there was about the interception of an Air France plane over the Dutch 'Eemshaven'.
Dutch media covered it, telling it were two German F16's who made the interception.
Only thing is, the Germans don't have F16's, it were two Tornado's from the German 'Luftwaffe' who made the interception.
Discussion was, that media must always make correct coverage, and should have checked if it could be F16's or not.
My response in that was (translated from above)

"I don't find such mistakes annoying, average journalists are no aviationexperts.
Which annoys me is...
I was watching Iron Eagle II this week, been a long time since I saw it, now I noticed...
MiG 29's played by F4's
MiG 21's played by KFIR's"

And to reply to McLanahan's comment;
I later realised that this is a Cold War movie, and indeed, they didn't even HAVE MiG's to shoot the movie.
Back in those days, using KFIR's was not unusually.
