Dubai Airshow 2009 Normal traffic

Post by EC »

This year from November 15th till the 19th the Bi-annual airshow was held again in Dubai

This is a great oppertunity to shoot aircraft at an otherwise not accessible airport.

I saw that Marco has done an almost live coverage of the show, but here are some of my impressions.

The landing shots are done from 20 Street, behind the Mercedes dealer.
The Exif's are still in the file but for your info, an A320 is +/- 200mm times 1,5 crop factor

yummie yummie yummie!!! :-d)

(And I still think all A320's should have a double-wheeled main MLG like the Indian one...)

Wow! The Dubai traffic certainly is amazing!
The Double gear looks really nice on the 320. Why is it on this one? And not on all the others?

I'm going to Dubai in December, I hope I'm going to see the A380 there.. And ofcourse some other amazing aircraft, like 732's! Can't wait!

Awesome pic's! Are these from the Airshow location or from a ''illegal'' spotting location at DXB?

Regards,
Jeffrey.

Hi Jeffrey,

the double gear is because of the bad condition some of the airports serviced by Indian Airlines are in. This spreads the load of the aircraft a bit.

Besides, compliments about EC's pictures. Pinsharp and well exposed.

Well, Now THAT'S a Sheraton hotel I want to visit and take a little swim at!
And ofcourse the Dubai Air show gives you one of the only (safe) chances to capture rotations at DXB. Awesome photo's!

Kind regards, Jeffrey.
