EHAM 09-12-2009

Allthough the weather was bad, I managed to get the Air Tahiti. Expecting 24, it was leaving 18L. Glad it did, 'cause of the low clouds and poor visibility. Not the most impressive shot, but I've got this one in the pocket

for only 20 euros you got a nice day, Maikel!

Now let me get this straight. You got fined €20,- because you were parked between the landingslights???
Is stood there a million times and never had any problem. Have they changed the rules??

Did you stay there with your car? If you did I can understand the situation. You're not allowed to park there if I remember correctly. And, was this place entrance/exit of an emergency crash gate? If so, you're not supposed to stay there also.
A 20 Euro fine is nothing, and count yourself lucky that it wasn't higher. But if you feel that it is not right to be fined, you're always able to complain. Good luck!

The fine was 60 eu, but split in 3 because of the number of persons, we never left the car. I also said to him that i've been there several times before, also this day another 3 police cars passed by without even looking. That you get the usual story of warnings don't help blabla. At the beginning of the Tweeduizendei there is indeed a marking (never noticed it) that you may not park youre car next to the road. Because this was a normal dirt road we did not think that would be any bother to anybody in the area.

Then he said something about where you are legal to park youre car, I will show it on a picture below.
The red position is where our car was, so you may not go there. You can park youre car at the blue squares, wich I found rather strange because that's a bicycle path.

Those blue squares aren't a bicycle path, that's the path the runs parallel to the road (hoofdweg) and canal. You've marked the entrance of a road to the landing lights. I always park my car at that road when I shoot photos at the Center rnw, never got any trouble over it.

And thats the whole problem with the police at Schiphol( I think there is another topic about
this). If you're wrongly parked the first police car should remove you from there and not 3 cars
passing without looking and car nr 4 decides to move you from there after giving you a fine.
Experienced this myself about 3 weeks ago at where they are building the road at 36R.
Some policecars passed by, even one waved friendly, suddenly a car appeared that told me to
inmediatelly move from there.

Ok thought it was a bicucle path.
I used to park my car there to, but it's not allowed so we were just lucky I think.
