Serial needed Le Bourget 1987

Post by TommyW »

Hi all!
Anyone an idea about a Mirage 50M at Aerosalon `87, lined up with some F 1`s and wearing a sand/olive camouflage pattern. Underside was in a light blue.
The aircraft had canards and an unretractable inflight refuelling boom on the nose.
Serial or even Air Force sought
Thanks for any help

Hey Tommy,

s/n: "3" Mirage 50M - FAV (Gruppo 11) ??? / Dassault ‘F-ZJTU’

see also this link : http://airvoila.com/gobierno-de-venezue ... mirage-50/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But in mine option this Mirage 50 is an upgrade from a French Mirage 5 (longer nose), if you search for Venezuian and Chilian version you see many differances.
Venezulian Mirage 50's have thicker and shorter noses, the Chilian versions have also other noses, like the Kifr and Cheetah versions, so... big mistery to my.
Look at the tail, also differances with the “le Bourget” and South-American versions!

Hope this helps (probaly not!!)

HI Attila!
Thank You for the reply. At the time now, I had already lost hope to get one at all.
In the link to Airvoila I found nearly exact the picture I took myself at Bourget 1987 plus another one showing the other side of the a/c but with no further hints to his identity. Sadly I don't understand really much spanish, but I took from the text that the pictured a/c should be an ecuadorian AF example, that was originally an embargoed one for Israel, then sold to Chile and now acquired be the VenAF (?) Please correct me, if I'm wrong.
So again thanks for the help and merry Christmas to You from Germany
Tommy
