A picture of the Gerbrandy-toren from out my bedroom, almost in our backyard....

Although the tower is called ''zendmast van Lopik'' it is really in IJsselstein. Lopik is about 12 kilometers away....

Not bad so far but I think the final result can be much better!

I presume you have to wait for the ideal circumstances: a very clear sky with hardly any wind!

Heah! That are almost my neighbors I live in the same neighbourhood I do more like the houses after the bend of the street.... Did you also photograph these houses? They have a lot of lights all over the house, and even the flagpole

we were there at about one o'clock in the night and all the other houses had their lights off but i live there nearby and i know that in that street is a lot of christmas lights every year!



amarx and i were busy for like an hour with our camera's (my new one a canon EOS 500D which is a huge step forwards in camparison of my old compact digital fujifilm camera) for the right settings to get those pics from the tower and that was about as good as we goud get but i usu photobucket but the photo's are automatically comprimized to a small size and when i see them here posted at scramble i can see that the quallity is just a little bit less than the original photos, does anyone use a different site to upload photo's without that problem?

I do also use Flickr. Maybe your pictures will keep their quality with that website?

Wikipedia(Dutch) "Toen de mast in 1961 in gebruik werd genomen, stond de mast in de gemeente Lopik. Na de gemeentelijke herindeling van 1989 behoort het grondgebied waarop de toren staat tot de gemeente IJsselstein (de wijk Zenderpark). Eigenaar NOVEC (destijds: Nozema) gebruikt nog steeds de naam "Lopik" om de toren aan te duiden. In Lopik staat overigens nog wel een andere zendmast. Deze zendmast is van de middengolfzender Lopik"
