So ´obviously´ you then completely disregarded the rest of the airfield. Ever cared to check the other transport planes, helicopters, trucks, tents etc on or around the airport? These didn´t come in by parachute you know....Le Addeur noir wrote:so VIP access obviously comes before aid flights.
The Americans must be barking mad to want to take over somewhere like Haiti.A failed state with a teeming population that is mainly unemployed and probably unemployable.kiwi wrote:Sounds like what Adam Curry was talking about on his podcast NoAgenda recently. Would it really be true that the US is using this for a non-hostile takeover of Haïti?
Before I get flamed. This is not directly my opinion, I do find it a possibility..
Totally agree with this part. Adam Curry never was the smartest guy on the radio, this only proofs it.Le Addeur noir wrote:The Americans must be barking mad to want to take over somewhere like Haiti.A failed state with a teeming population that is mainly unemployed and probably unemployable.kiwi wrote:Sounds like what Adam Curry was talking about on his podcast NoAgenda recently. And this was last Tuesday...There is a backlog of at least 800 aircraft awaiting permission to land at the overloaded airport, which can handle just 130 flights daily, prompting recriminations from some aid agencies.
It is a Mexican C-130K (triangle on wing and aerial refuel probe) and a normal grey USAF C-130H. Also a grey CN235 and a C-17. But I do not see an Il-76 ???? See also the military ships for coast..........Le Addeur noir wrote:Well, that's not an American C-130.
I see a biz-jet on the ramp, with someone disembarking,so VIP access obviously comes before aid flights.
Apparently many bizjet owners in the US were encouraged by the NBAA to 'donate' their aircraft to aid agencies needing to transport supplies to Port-au-Prince, so its entirely possible that this aircraft was simply bringing in supplies.Le Addeur noir wrote:I see a biz-jet on the ramp, with someone disembarking,so VIP access obviously comes before aid flights.
The satellite-pic is updated regularly. The Il-76 was visible last week. On the same picture with the Il-76, a Mexican Navy Antonov (An-32?) was visible as well (the serial was even readable on the wing).Hans van der Vlist wrote:It is a Mexican C-130K (triangle on wing and aerial refuel probe) and a normal grey USAF C-130H.
