Hey Jordy,

I did also use a S8000fd for a long time and it's a nice camera. But you use it on a wrong way. That doesn't matter off course, but here are some tips to improve your pictures!

First, never use digital zoom! Not with this camera, also not with other camera's. Digital zoom means cropping a picture. And then, the quality will become very bad!

On the second and the third picture, the subject is too far to get a nice picture. Now, you don't see any detail, but only a small "spot". Wait for the moment that the subject is close enough the photograph it.

With the S8000fd you can take very nice pictures! But use your camera on the right way! With this camera, you can choose for automatic photographing or manually photographing. With auto you can easily make pictures. But with manually you can improve the quality of your pictures! Just try some settings, and get very nice pictures. Now, I'm using a DSLR camera. But I was always very happy with the S8000fd!

Good to see more and more young plane spotters coming.. as most of us are getting old (sorry gents)
I am not, I am just 18.. started when I was 13 years old.. and if I look back to these ages, worse pictures but awesome memories

Jordy, don't be ashamed about the quality of your pictures. You're very young, and you have to learn a lot of things, so I'm very pleased to help you with improving your pictures!;):D When I was 13 I made pictures with a analogue camera, and the quality was very bad. Only pictures of the static show were a success I tried also to catch the birds in the sky... but most of time it was also just a "spot" in a picture, without any detail. keep practicing and show your pictures on Scramble to get some more tips if we "don't like" the results of your work

These pictures are much better than the pictures in your first post! I really like the second picture!

In the first picture, the F-16 is very far away of you.... That's unfortunate I think, but okey. Not a
very very bad picture...

About the AF Fokker... The contrast isn't fine, did you improve your pictures with photo editing software?
If you didn't, try the program Paint.net That's a nice photo editing program and it's free to use! I tried some
thing for you....

I had only a small picture, and I made only an example to show the difference

The last picture, I should try to get the plane in the middle of the picture, or crop your picture if possible....

But, these pictures are much better than the previous post....

Everyone has to start somewhere....... You don't want to see the pictures which I made when I was only 13 years old

I can predict you that you will keep learning more and more about photography. Eventually the photo's will meet te the standards of the photo's which can be seen at other topics of this photo forum.

Good luck and keep going on with making pictures !

And remember (like Boudewijn allready wrote), the memories you have are more important then the pictures you made

Heren, ik heb de boel even opgedeeld. In deze area kan Nederlands ook, dat maakt het wellicht voor Jordy makkelijker om te antwoorden.

Voor de duidelijkheid nog even dit: kwaliteitsmaatstaven in het Photo Forum zijn niet persoonsgeboden. Dat houdt in dat een jongeman die net begint logischerwijs vaak niet kan laten zien wat daar de bedoeling is. Zie dit deel van de Forum rules:

Als wij dus onscherpe foto's weghalen is dat geen oordeel over de fotograaf maar over de foto.

Welkom bij de club ! Ik vind het fantastisch om te zien dat je op jouw leeftijd met deze hobby begint, en je resultaten deelt met de rest van de lezers. Ga zo door !

Velen onder ons zijn rond jouw leeftijd beginnen met fotograferen, en niemand van ons had na een paar maanden al 15 jaar ervaring. Het leuke is dat er veel te ontdekken en te leren valt, en daarvan lopen hier op dit forum een paar mooie voorbeelden rond. Ga maar eens kijken naar de vorderingen van Jimmy van Drunen. Ook hij begon jong en heeft de laatste tijd waanzinnige vooruitgang geboekt. Zoveel zelfs dat vele ervaren fotografen jaloers op hem zijn. Wie weet ben jij de volgende ster van dit forum !

Mocht je nog eens wat willen weten, vraag het dan gerust. Hier op het forum, of als je dat makkelijker vindt, rechtstreeks aan de mensen zelf. Stuur me maar een PM als ik je kan helpen.

Dat waren mijn eerste foto´s die ik hier op het forum geplaatst had, nu kan ik er wel om lachen, maar toen was ik nog best trots op de foto´s Dus ik weet ongeveer hoe het is al je foto´s toch niet zo mooi blijken te zijn als je denkt

Ik kan je als tip geven om er goed op te letten dat je camera goed recht houdt, zodat je een mooie rechte horizon krijgt. Dit was ook een van de eerste tips die ik heb gekregen
En als je het erg leuk vind, komt het vanzelf wel goed, is gewoon een kwestie van blijven oefenen. Ik maak zelf ook nog erg zwakke foto´s maar als je blijft oefenen wordt het iedere keer weer wat beter

zeker goed om al die helpende reacties te horen ben nu zelf 17 en begon ooit met een canon A510 powershot in het begin lukte het niet echt maar na blijven proberen ging het steeds beter. toen uiteindelijk besloot ik maar om een spiegelreflex te kopen op me 15e een EOS300D met een 28-200 lens ook dat was weer wennen en uiteindelijk ging dat prima! en nu 2 jaar verder heb ik een EOS40D met 170-500mm maar in die tussen tijd heb ik zo'n zelfde camera ook gehad een fuiji finepix S8000 ik vond het een erg fijne camera dus blijf oefenen!!! dan gaat het zeker goed komen!

Ooit was er een topic over foto´s die het niet haalde. Kisten met een bord voor hun kop, wielen in het gras begraven, staarten afgehakt etc. Geen idee of het nog bestaat, maar als we een topic zouden openen met de eerste foto´s van eenieder dan zul je zien dat iedereen zo ongeveer hetzelfde begint. Bij sommige is het in de jaren verbeterd, bij andere wil het maar niet lukken (ik zei de gek...).

Onzin, het kan iedereen lukken ook jou. Gewoon de juiste persoon aanspreken of zoeken naar iemand die je de juiste hulp kan bieden. Er zit een grens aan welke apparatuur je gebruikt, maar met de juiste instellingen, kennis en een aantal basisregels moet iedereen in staat zijn om met de tot zijn beschikking staande app. het beste eruit te halen wat erin zit. Ook jij dus Erwin.

Waar ik het meest van baal is dat ik te weinig tijd heb om deze hobby te kunnen uitoefenen. Ik ben stront jaloers op degenen die week in week uit ergens in Europa langs de baan staan. Maar goed, het geeft materiaal om te bekijken natuurlijk.
