The newspaper article states that the precautionary landing was whitnessed by some spotters. Die-hard spotters for sure then......

Or did no one tell them the field is more of less closed......

Robin Hood, ja. ben'k helemaal voor. maar gasten die een leerling meenemen zonder geldige papieren?

(of dat in dit geval ook zo was of dat het om een administratieve misser gaat, laat ik vooralsnog open).
maar als dat zo is: Wat doet de verzekering als een onverzekerde piloot zware schade maakt aan derden eigendom?

Beste tip voor wannabee's (ontleend aan advies van een Britse insider): vraag de instructeur van je keuze vooraf naar zijn papieren voordat je gaat beginnen met lessen. Doet hij of de vliegschool daar moeilijk over, dan weet je genoeg. exit! En vol goede moed op naar de volgende.

As someone stated in the "Praethuys" section of this MB: the best thing to do would be to confiscate the aircraft, give it a paint job, register it PH-TEE and deliver it to either the KLu Historische Vlucht at Gilze, the Dutch Hunter Flight at Leeuwarden or the Dutch Historic Jet Association at Lelystad

That'll teach them not to land without informing Dutch spotters first

I was afraid something like this would happen, if the bureaucrats and regulators get their claws into this...... I would not be surprised if this T-bird will leave the Netherlands by truck!

I do NOT know this by fact, but somehow I don't think this pilot's arrest makes the chances of it leaving flying any slimmer than it already is. Another pilot could do the job if allowed. But the airfield is closed and unsupported at this time, so therefore I think flying it out just isn't an option at this time.

PS I can't help phantasizing about passing by the airfield at the time that T-33 landed unexpectedly; that would have been as close to time travel as one can get

Even een vraag, staat de T33 nog steeds fotografeerbaar op het veld? Dit voordat ik morgen of maandag voor niets 2 uur in de auto stap, en zo ja, wanneer is hij het beste te nemen qua zonnestand (als de zon schijnt natuurlijk)? Alvast bedankt. Gr Roger
